First Thoughts:

YaY! I finally got my hands on “The Golden Lily” and man was I excited to read this book, there’s just something about this world that draws me in. But as I read this book I found myself not as into it as I was with Bloodlines…I don’t know it was really good but just didn’t seem as good as the first book, but I guess it just goes along with most other books in series…the first book is always the hardest to beat. I did love that I got to see more of Adrian and Dimitri…I could just sit there and read them all day…sigh. Anyways I did enjoy the overall book and still think it’s worth the read.

Plot:

So the plot in this book was really good, I loved that I didn’t guess all the little things right away; I liked that it made me keep wondering what was going on. The concept of this book and the previous one before it is very unique and intriguing, I really enjoy the idea of all the different races and how they interact and in this story we actually get some answers we were seeking in book one. I can’t say it was more action packed and thrilling because really it didn’t really have a lot of high-action scenes, it did however have a plot that pulled me in and allowed me to keep reading. As far as sub-plots went there were a few, one in particular was pretty interesting…though I don’t know if it really added to the world all that much, I guess it was more for the character than anything. And like I mentioned earlier the pace is fast but the action is slow, so if you’re seeking a high-thriller, with plenty of hard-core fight scenes you’re not going to find many of them in here (though towards the end, there is one that’s pretty awesome!) And the construction of the world was built-up even more in this book; we got to see another added element that added some pretty cool drama and plot setup for the future books to come (I hear there are going to be six books in this series!) But overall I did enjoy the plotline of this book and the concept has yet to grow old on me. So if you enjoyed Bloodlines
plot I’m sure you won’t want to miss this one!

Romance:

Yes there is some romance in this book (come on you just have to have romance in Richelle Meads books!) and I liked that it wasn’t all that overwhelming though the relationship of a certain character did get on my nerves from time to time…I don’t know I just really couldn’t connect the two together and you’ll know which couple I’m talking about once you read it. And as far as the smaller relationships they were good but not in any way overwhelming to the main conflict. So overall this was a good aspect of the book.

Characters:

Still love them, especially Adrian…he has by far been one of my favorite characters from the very beginning. The author just created him too perfectly, I mean come on I want me an Adrian! And Sydney was just as fun to read along with. She was easy to connect with and though she had a very annoying moments she was overall I good character in the story. And as far as the other characters both old and new they were well placed within this book and I didn’t feel like the author just put them in there for the fans…they actually had a purpose! But overall I really enjoyed the characters; it definitely made me enjoy the book more.

Transformation of the Character:

There weren’t really any major transformations in this book. The only one that really had any impact on me was with a certain character I love. It was just the beginning of it though and you could tell that the transformation wasn’t complete but was well on its way to becoming something beautiful. So I guess this aspect just wasn’t such a big deal in this book but I like that it isn’t; it gives the characters time to gradually change; to make it more realistic.

Description:

Loved the description, the author’s way of describing has yet to bore or disappoint me. She paid great attention to the details of each scenes, she knew just the right amount of description it took to allow the reader to really see each scene as it’s meant to be scene. And the few fight scenes she put into this book were amazing to read and I really was able to really see them through the eyes of Sydney; to see them as if I was really there. I also liked how she described the lily tattoo; I really got a good image of what it looks like stored in my mind. As far as the dialogue I found that there was just the right amount and each line seemed true to the character; actually it might have added another layer to this complicated world. So overall I really enjoyed the description, it allowed the reader to forget where they were and just enjoy another beautiful and fun book.

Style:

This was written in first person and in one POV, it allowed the reader to really focus in on the storyline and keep some of the information that would later be revealed. I liked that this had a more narrow focus; it really allowed me to stay focused and better understand what happened in each scene…it allowed me to experience more of the world. And as for the author’s writing, it’s just as wonderful and beautiful as ever. It’s easy to read and definitely has sophistication to it that only true masters of writing have. It was definitely worth the read. So overall I really enjoyed the style in this book.

Quote of the book:

“He reached out and pulled me to him, one hand on my waist and the other behind my neck. He tipped my head up and lowered his lips to mine. I closed my eyes and melted as my whole body was consumed in that kiss. I was nothing. I was everything.”

Goodreads Summary:

Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students--children of the wealthy and powerful--carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

Last Thoughts:

I would recommend this to fans of the vampire academy series and the fans of the Bloodlines series. This is definitely a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to continue reading Sydney’s story in “Indigo Spell” which releases February 12, 2013 (the day after my 22nd b-day!) I loved a lot about this book and just love reading the author’s writing…I just don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of it. But one thing is for sure…this story has a long way to go and I’m looking forward to discovering the things it has yet to reveal.

The Savage Grace Review

Number of Pages: 488

Publisher: Egmont USA

First Thoughts:

This definitely didn’t start out slowly; the reader was instantly thrown back into Grace’s world.  It really left off shortly after the last book and I was once again connected with Grace and her world. I was pretty satisfied on how this series ended but still felt a yearning for a more sound ending…I still felt a little unsure of the end of this world but maybe some books just need to end this way. But thankfully I found this series to be a fun and interesting read on werewolves and would recommend it to fans of that paranormal. And as for the fans of the “Divine” series I think you’ll be satisfied with the overall turnout of this book.

Plot:

The plot was pretty straight forward; there were plenty of suspense and surprises to keep the reader interested throughout the book. I found the concept to be consistent with the previous two books of the series. I really enjoyed that some of the concepts were explained a little better in this book; we started to learn the official rules and boundaries of the world and we got to see the expected roles of each of the characters. There were parts of the plot that confused me at times…like I didn’t remember certain information from the previous books but thankfully the book eventually went back and covered any information that the might have forgot. Also I enjoyed that I wasn’t able to guess the resolution till the very end, the author did a really great job on giving the reader false leads, it was like trying to go through a maze…you didn’t discover the resolution until the author wanted you to; this is something I really enjoy in books. One thing I kind of didn’t like was that some of the scenes seemed a little out of sync…like they didn’t quite fit into the book…I don’t know really how to describe it but it was just a feeling a got while reading this book. I guess it would be different for each reader. As far as the pace it was pretty quick, I managed to read this good sized book in two days…and it took me that long because the plot was a little slow at times which caused me to put it down and do something else…and I guess it didn’t help that another book caught my eye and caused me to read it first before finishing this book. But overall the plot was pretty good and I overall enjoyed it.

Romance:

If you’ve read this series you very well know the romance between Daniel and Grace so there’s no surprise there that the romance is at times over the top and it did at times take priority over the main conflict. And there was of course the conflict of the two being together…so overall that romance is nothing new to the readers and seeing you should read the previous two books before this one you should be able to base on your liking of the romance from those. As for the other romances there was some but definitely more subtle and in the background.

Characters:

The characters were just as lively as in the previous books. I still really loved Grace though at times she was quite annoying and not thinking clearly (but I’ll forgive her) As for the more minor characters I think I enjoyed them even more at times than I did the main characters. They just seemed to add a different layer to this world; one to provide both sentimental and comic relief to the characters world. And each character had their own role to play and if one of them were to be deleted this story would be off…way off. So overall the characters added more depth and fun to this book.

Transformation of the Character:

The transformations in this book were amazing, I loved watching them (yes watching, not reading, it really feel like I was watching this book) each transformation was gradual and very beautiful and needed. I didn’t think any of the transformations felt unrealistic or wrong…it was really fun to see them take place…I’m not going to say nothing more…I’ll let you see for yourself. So overall this aspect really added to the book.

Description:

The description was really good at times and not at others. I felt at times the description made the story drag or cause me to get disinterested in the book.  But at the times that it was good it really allowed me to picture each scene really well. The description of the scenery and what was happening was really well described and allowed my senses to be involved…the warehouse scene was really well described and the battle scenes as well. And the description also helped me really connect with the characters even better; to get me to understand them…so I guess in the end the description helped connect the reader to the story.

Style:

This was written in one POV and first person which allowed the reader to connect better with a more personal story and to see the world with a narrower lens…it allowed this complicated world to be told in a way that wouldn’t overwhelm the reader. And as far as the author’s writing it was just as easy and fun to read as her previous books…there weren’t really any changes that I could note. So overall the style was good for the book.

Quote of the book:

“Your life is a lot bigger than this moment. You need to remember that you can't let the trials you face right now derail your course forever.”

Goodreads Summary:

A troubled soul. An impossible choice. A final battle.

Wrestling with the werewolf curse pulsing deep inside of her, Grace Divine was finally able to find her brother, but it nearly cost her everything.

With her boyfriend, Daniel, stuck in wolf form and Sirhan's death approaching, time is running out for Grace to stop Caleb Kalbi and his gang of demons. If she fails, her family and hometown will perish. Everything rests on Grace's shoulders.

The final installment in The Dark Divine trilogy brings Daniel and Grace's love story to a breathtaking conclusion.

Last Thoughts:

I would recommend this to YA readers and to the fans of werewolf paranormal…this was definitely a fun book to read and I’m glad to see the conclusion of these adorable characters. Though I might be sad to leave them behind I am still happy to see the conclusion to their story…it’s about time they got their ending. But overall I enjoyed the authors writing and will look forward to any future books this author may produce.

"After Ever" Review and Interview

Publisher: Bay Horse

First Thoughts:

I was captured by this book from the very start, I enjoyed the attitude of the main character, I enjoyed the realism and connection I had. This was definitely a quick and enjoyable read. I liked the different dimensions to this world and found the concept and idea to be creative and fun to read. When I went into reading this book I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as soon as I jumped into the world I was able to see that the book was really divided into two parts and I was able to see two very different stories blend into one…very creative and clever. But overall I enjoyed reading this book and aside from a few issues I found it was in the end a fast and enjoyable read.

Plot:

So the plot was pretty traditional in the fact that it had all the necessary elements to make a good plot and the resolution was really good and satisfying. I really enjoyed the concept of this book, purgatory or heaven (don’t know which one to really call it) it was something new and fresh, I haven’t read a lot of books that deal with life after death but I have read enough to get the basis down and this book had so many unique qualities and boundaries that I have never read before. The concept of there being 5 levels and heaven having so many rules and restrictions was fun to experience and learn. Though I felt that at times things were a bit awkward and confusing…I didn’t always get something until later on in the book when it was brought up again. But thankfully there weren’t too many of those moments. Something I did find clever and as I mentioned earlier this book was really separated into two parts, a little under half the book was about the character living…letting the reader get to really know Winnie and her life and then the second half was about her death and where she ended up after she died. I don’t know which part I enjoyed more…in the first half I really connected with Winnie and I felt a more emotional tie to her and the book but in the second half I did not so much. But in the second half I felt like the book was changing to be something on its own; something unique and creative. So I guess in the end the two halfs really allowed me to enjoy the book very much. And as far as the pace, it was really fast, the length is short and can be read in one sitting.

Romance:

There wasn’t a lot of romance in this book, you didn’t really even see any romance until near the three quarter mark so it didn’t bother me at all and the love between the characters felt realistic and sweet. I really thought the two characters really seemed to clash just right, their relationship will definitely have its challenges but I think they’re be fun to read and experience. So overall the romance was good in this book.

Characters:

I was really able to connect with Winnie from the start, she had a lot of emotional turmoil and experiences and I found it easy to connect with the situation and Winnie. I really felt like Winnie was realistically formed, she had a lot of traits and quirks you could very easily find in a teenager here in reality. I also thought that the other characters were perfect, each one had their own traits and personalities that helped benefit the overall story. And I felt that each character was necessary in the plot and each one had their own role to play. So overall the characters were well formed and placed within the world of the book.

Transformation of the Character:

I didn’t really see that many transformations in this story…I really felt like Winnie would have done a pretty big transformation due to her circumstances but by the end I felt she really didn’t change all that much, she may have changed a little but it was definitely subtle and disappointing. But thankfully there are going to be other books so I have a feeling she’ll be changing and transforming into the character I envision her to be. So overall this aspect of the book didn’t really help the book in any way.

Description:

The description was really good at times and just good at others. I felt the author did a fantastic job describing Winnie’s life before she died. I could very easily envision the cabin/resort they were staying at and all the conflicts that occurred. Another scene she did well with was when Winnie was experiencing some of the new elements of the new world (after she died). I could really picture what was happening both physically and emotionally. I love a book that makes me feel and at times I was able to do that. Also I liked how she described the landscapes, she did a great job especially with the cliff scene…it almost reminded me of a cliff in New Zealand! As far as the amount of description I felt that it was adequate for this book and had no problem in this area. As far as the dialogue it wasn’t awkward or too much, it seemed some of the dialogue gave the reader a sense of comic relief. So overall the description was pretty good in this book.

Style:

This was only in one POV which was necessary for this story, it allowed the plot/story to be balanced and organized, if it were to change back and forth between POV’s I think it would have just caused disorientation and more distance from the reader to the character/world. Also this was written in first person which allowed the reader to really get a great connection with Winnie, -we were able to see her most inner-thoughts and understand what makes her tick. As for the author’s writing, it was good and I had no problem reading it though there were a few grammar issues throughout the book but not enough to really distract me that much. So overall the style was good.

Quote of the book:

“I begin to sink. Slowly at first, then faster and faster, spinning round and round. The light fades away. I keep my eyes open, straining to catch every last drop of it. And then the darkness swallows me and I see nothing. I am nothing.”

Goodreads Summary:

For sixteen-year-old Winnie Coleman, dying is the least of her worries. Between coming to terms with her mother’s unexpected death, trying to think up new and inventive ways to break up her father and Girlfriend #3, and keeping her brother from chewing off his fingers, she has her hands full. Courtesy of a thin patch of ice and failed swimming lessons, all of that changes in the blink of an eye.

In death Winnie will find the answers that eluded her in life, and a whole slew of other questions she never thought to ask. Like why is she stuck with Sam for a guide? Sure, he’s funny and cute in a geeky sort of way, but he wears sweater vests… and loafers. For a girl who has tattoos on her face and glue in her hair, it’s not exactly the best match up.

But when Sam is taken and his very existence threatened, Winnie must make the ultimate choice between cowardice and courage. Faithlessness and loyalty. Family... and love.

Suspenseful and action packed, After Ever is a must read for anyone who ever wondered: what happens next?

Last Thoughts:

I would recommend this to YA readers and to anyone who is willing to read a creative and good story. I really enjoyed the author’s POV and creativeness that came upon creating this world. I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series and look forward to learning more about the “heaven” they are now living in.

My Rating:

Now for a special treat…

Interview with Jillian Eaton

What inspired you to write “After Ever”?

Totally cliché, but I had a dream where I was dead and I had to rescue my sister. The way I envisioned death in my dream is very similar to how it is portrayed in the book, as far as the creation of the After and specifically the Levels (which you’ll find out about it if you read it!) Everything else just sort of fell into place as I went along.

Were there any scenes you had to take out?

A few, although I honestly can’t remember what they were. I tend to write something, reread it, and if it doesn’t jive just delete it then and there. Although there was one funny scene with Francesca, which I won’t say here because I’m hoping to use it for the sequel.

What is your favorite place to write?

I always write at my desk. It’s big and old and I can look out the window and see horses, which is pretty cool.

Was there any music that helped you write your book?

I’ve been waiting to answer a question like this! NO. There is no music that helps me write! I tried listening to all types of music while I was writing, and for the life of me I couldn’t concentrate. I have no idea how other authors do it! If music is playing I can’t write a single word.

If you died like Winnie would you want to attend your own funeral as a ghost/spirit?

What a great question. I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, although I would want to attend for entirely different reasons than she did. I’ll leave it at that.

If there was one book you would love to live in what would it be?

So easy. Harry Potter.

Who were your greatest supporters during this whole process?

My mom. Although I have to admit she hasn’t even read After Ever yet. YA is not her cup of tea. She did read two of my historical romances, though, and said “those parts” made her very uncomfortable!

Has writing this book been a great experience for you?

A SUPER great experience. Also exhilarating, exhausting, and exciting.

Do your characters ever talk back to you? Like do they sometimes give you trouble while writing about them?

Winnie talked back to me frequently. I tried to make her be nicer to Sam, especially in the beginning, but she wasn’t having it. Her sarcasm knows no bounds.

What can we expect from the next book in the series?

The next book will really start to get into the ins and outs of the After itself. This time around Winnie was really flying by the seat of her pants, but now she is definitely starting to get a handle on how things work and that could be good… or bad. Ellie will continue to pull some strings behind the scenes, and of course Francesca and Sam will be back as well, in addition to a new character I am super excited about.

Thanks so much for having me on your blog, Lacey! Your questions were fantastic. Very thought provoking.

No Thank you Jillian for taking the time to answer my questions and allowing us to learn just a little bit more about you and your book!

"The Last Echo" Review

Number of Pages: 360

Publisher: Harper Collins

First Thoughts:

From the very beginning I was hooked; I was instantly submerged back into Violet’s world. This book didn’t let me down,  I feel like the series has so much more to explore and the ideas and concept hasn’t grown old like some other YA series these days. Actually this particular book really reminded me of the show “Criminal Minds” minus the superpowers of course. I will later explain why I think that but if you’re a fan of the show I think you might find this book even more appealing. The Body Finder series is definitely unique and so much fun to read, if you haven’t checked out the previous two books in the series, I would totally recommend that you do so; at least give this series a chance. It just seems this world has so much more to offer and Kimberley’s writing is so beautiful and easy to read. The wait for this book was totally worth it and by the end I was definitely left with yearning to read more.

Plot:

I liked the conflicts and plotline of this book; there definitely was plenty of action and suspense in this book to keep you reading. And you really started to get to know the team; to see what they could do.  The concept of Violet’s ability is still intriguing to me; I still find it unique and creative and you really get to see Violet at work in this book. Violet’s world is still growing, you still see all of the hidden secrets that it has and some you still don’t know but in the end you still feel satisfied. I really enjoyed seeing all the characters we know and love take part in this story, some had bigger parts to play while others were more subtle and there only occasionally. But each character helped move the plot along, they created conflict, suspense, and love; they made the book worth reading. And as far as the conflict in this book, there was the main problem with serial killer and then there was a sub-plot that intersected the main conflict and may be later used in the next book (That’s what I’m guessing). And why this book reminded me of “Criminal Minds” was because the serial killer would be someone they would so profile, the way he acts and thinks is a perfect case for them! I’m a huge fan of the show and though this book lacked the “Criminal Minds” crew it did give me a sense that this serial killer would be someone you’d find on that show. As far as the pace of the book it was pretty fast, I was able to read this book in one day; it was really fun to read. So overall I think the plot was really good and allowed me to really enjoy this book.

Romance:

Sigh, this was one aspect of the book that took it from 5 stars down to 4. I just don’t like that possibility of a love triangle (haven’t we read enough of them already?) I loved that Violet and Jay were together, their love seems real and I love Jay but the possibility of Rafe? No thank you, I love him as a character but don’t like him as a possible love interest for Violet. And another thing I really missed Jay in this book, he was there but just not as much as I’m used to…I miss you Jay!! So overall this did not make me enjoy the book any better.

Characters:

I still love Violet, I’m able to connect to her from the beginning, I love her no matter what decisions she makes and I just like her personality. I really felt like I was able to understand her even more in this book. She in a small way opened up to her readers and allowed us to really experience what it’s like to be her. As far as the other characters, they each were filled with their own traits and quirks and fit perfectly into their own roles; each of them had a part to play. Krystal especially was a character that stood out and I so love the personality of her car “Roxy”. So overall each of the characters interacted and did well in this book, they were easy to read along with and easy to connect with.

Transformation of the Character:

So there weren’t that many transformations in this book, I think Violet’s starting to transform/grow-up more in this book. I felt by the end of the book she was starting to think differently…but there’s of course more room to grow. As far as the other characters I think Rafe definitely needs to transform but gradually and I think there might have been the start of that near the end of this book and I can’t wait to see him transform…So overall this wasn’t really a big aspect in this book.

Description:

I really enjoyed the way the author described the emotions and images in this book. I really like how she described the echoes and imprints, they really allowed the reader to better understand Violet’s gift. And the description of the scenery was just so beautiful and fun to read. The images really attracted me to this world; I felt like I was actually inside the book; experiencing everything the characters were experiencing. I was able to feel the fear, the excitement and love, the emotion in this book was expertly tied in within the description and characters. And as far as there being too much or too little this book had just the right amount, I didn’t feel overwhelmed with it and there’s enough of it to allow me to become a part of this world. The dialogue seemed realistic and true to the character and I didn’t find any problems with it. So overall I enjoyed the description and found that it added more depth and texture to the overall feel and look of this story’s world.

Style:

This was written in two POV’s Violets and the killer’s. I liked the killer’s a lot because it really allowed me to get inside his head to experience his thoughts and actions; it allowed the reader to better understand why he was killing the girls he was. And Violet’s POV allowed us to see the story from her vantage point and we were able to really connect well with her and understand how she is dealing with the conflicts within the story. Also this book was written in third person, so it allowed the reader to step back and see the world a little better and see a few more vantage points you wouldn’t have been able to see if it was written in first person. The author’s writing was just as easy and beautiful as it was in the previous books of this series. She captivated me from the very first page. So overall I found the style to be very well suited for this book.

Quote of the book:

“He nuzzled the side of her neck and breathed in the scent of her, hoping he’d never forget this moment as he slipped his hand down the length of her arm, his fingers intertwining with hers. Already they were stiff and cold. It was too bad she was so fragile, he thought as he drew back and glanced into her wide, glassy, unblinking eyes. She could have been perfect. She could have been the one.”

Goodreads Summary:

In the end, all that's left is an echo...

Violet kept her morbid ability to sense dead bodies a secret from everyone except her family and her childhood-best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Jay Heaton. That is until forensic psychologist Sara Priest discovered Violet's talent and invited her to use her gift to track down murderers. Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it's Violet's job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice. When Violet discovers the body of a college girl killed by "the girlfriend collector" she is determined to solve the case. But now the serial killer is on the lookout for a new "relationship" and Violet may have caught his eye....

Last Thoughts:

I would recommend this to YA readers and to fans of the body finder series. This was definitely another successful book in the series; I enjoyed the conflict and suspense. This book had a lot of good qualities to it and though the romance is starting to worry me I still have faith in Violet’s romance; Jay’s just too much of a wonderful guy. But this was a fun and interesting book to read and I can’t wait to continue reading more of this series and any other series the author writes. I just love her ideas and style of writing. I’m sure Kimberley has a lot in store for her fans…now if only I knew what it was!

Interview with Diantha Jones

Hey my fellow followers!

I have another wonderful interview for you guys, Diantha, author of “The Prophecy of the Most Beautiful” has taken time out of her busy schedule to answer some really cool questions about her book. But before we get to the interview here’s a summary on what her book is about:

She has a destiny so great that even the gods fear her.

Constant hallucinations and the frequent conversations with the voices in her head, have earned eighteen-year-old Chloe Clever the not-so-coveted title of "Whack Job" in her home town of Adel, Georgia. With the onslaught of prescription medications and therapists threatening to push her over the edge, she wishes for a life far away from the one she has, a life where she is destined to be more than the butt of everyone's jokes and mockery.

Be careful what you wish for has never rung more true.

After living through an attack from her worst nightmare, she awakens to find herself far from home, surrounded by glorious riches and servants…and a few demigods who enjoy killing things. Upon learning that her favorite rockstar is an Olympian god, she is thrust into her new life as the Oracle of Delphi, the prophesier of the future, and the great Pythia that the gods have been anxiously awaiting to arrive for centuries. Setting out to fulfill the prophecy she has been given and to keep her family safe from a demigod Princess that wants her dead, Chloe learns of how great she is to become, all the while fighting mythical monsters, evading divine assassins and trying to outwit the ever-cunning Greek gods who harbor secrets of their own. In the hopes of discovering the Most Beautiful and the truth of her destiny, she strives to uncover the mysteries of the demigod Prince who has sworn to protect her with his life…and threatens to win her heart in the process.

To hear what I thought of the book go Here to read my review!

Interview with Diantha Jones

What inspired you to write this book?

I LOVE Greek mythology. Before I even know that I wanted to write a series based around it, I loved it. So when I finally decided that I was ready to write my first novel, I didn’t really have to think about it.

What was the hardest part of the writing process?

Narrowing my focus. Greek myth in its entirety is majorly OVERWHELMING. I tried many different angles before arriving at the Oracle of Delphi, but when I did it was like hitting a home run in the World Series - A total WINNER.

Were there any songs that helped you get through writing this book?

What an awesome question. MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS. I love movie soundtracks, in particular the “Wrath of the Titans” soundtrack, which is completely Greek myth inspired. But I also love my classical music station on Pandora. I just let it play and write for hours.

If you could be a demigod which God would you like as your parent?

This is the hardest question I’ve ever been asked. I’d have to say Dionysus. Dionysus is that parent that would never tell you to turn your music down, never mention the word “curfew”, and when he finds you and your friends passed out on the living room floor from a little overindulgence, nudges you awake with the toe of his Converse and says “Hungry? I made breakfast.”

Which of your characters is your favorite?

My two main characters, Chloe Clever and Strafford Law, are my favorites. I love how they mesh so well together yet manage to drive each other crazy on an hourly basis. They’re the perfect couple.

Who supported you the most throughout this whole process?

My parents were constant supporters throughout this entire process and they continue to be so. They are known for bragging about my book to everyone they know which lets me know that they are truly proud of me and not just supporting me because I’m their daughter. But I can’t downplay my sister, extended family and friends. They’ve been major supporters as well. I’m so blessed to have all of them in my life. Then of course, there are the fabulous book blogs like the Page Turner who relentlessly support us Indie authors simply because they love books! Where would we all be without them?

Were there any scenes you took out?

I think I took out an entire book of scenes from Prophecy of the Most Beautiful. Some I put aside for other books in the series, others are gone forever, but every deletion was made to better the book and the series in general.

What should we expect in the next book?

Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise is going to be revelational as far as Strafford Law is concerned. Secrets will be revealed, truths will be told, and Chloe will realize just what kind of world Myth really is. Nothing is as it seems and the gods can’t be trusted any further than she can throw a full-grown pegasus. The Fates aren’t messing around anymore and Chloe is about to find that out. I can’t wait to share it with my readers!

Thanks so much, Lacey!
